Delete your SheJoins account

You can delete your account at any time, in the app.

How

  1. Sign in with your mobile number.
  2. Go to My profile, then Delete my account.
  3. Type DELETE and confirm.

Can't sign in any more (for example, you've lost the number)? Write to support@shejoins.com from the email you'd like a reply to, with the mobile number on the account. We'll check it's you and delete it within 30 days.

What we delete straight away

  • Your sign-in, profile, photos, intro video and status
  • Your verification record and any ID images or video we still hold
  • Your open plans, applications, blocks and devices
  • Reviews about you

What we keep, and why

  • Chats: closed at once, deleted after 90 days, so a report about them can still be checked.
  • Bookings and payments: kept as long as tax and consumer law require (up to 8 years in India).
  • Safety records (SOS alerts, reports, warnings and suspensions): kept for 3 years to protect other members.
  • Reviews you wrote: stay on the other member's profile, without your name.
  • If your account was removed for breaking our rules: we keep a record so the same person can't join again (see our privacy policy).
  • Backups: copies of our database are kept for up to 14 weeks, then overwritten.
