These terms are an agreement between you and Starbrain Technologies OPC Private Limited, which operates SheJoins. By creating an account, you accept them. Please also read our privacy policy.
1. What SheJoins is, and isn't
- SheJoins helps women find another verified woman to join them for everyday plans in public places: a concert, a coffee, a walk, a film, shopping, an appointment or a hospital visit.
- Members who join others for a fee ("companions") are independent. They set their own rates and choose which plans to accept. They don't work for SheJoins.
- SheJoins is strictly non-sexual and non-romantic. It is not a dating, escort or massage service. Any request for, or offer of, sexual or romantic contact, in any form, leads to removal and may be reported to the police.
- SheJoins is not an emergency service. Our SOS and check-in features help, but they can't guarantee anyone's safety. In danger, call 112 (India, France), 999 (UK) or 911 (US) first.
2. Who can join
- SheJoins is for women. Every member's government ID must state female. You must also be 21 or over, able to form a binding contract, and verified by us.
- Verification: a person checks a valid government ID (passport, masked Aadhaar, national ID card, voter ID or driving licence) and a short video.
- If your ID doesn't show sex or gender (some driving licences don't), we'll ask you for a second ID that does, such as a passport, masked Aadhaar or national ID card.
- What we record: only that your ID meets this requirement. We never record what your ID says about sex or gender.
- One account per person. Your account is personal: don't share it, or sell it.
- We may refuse or end membership where the law allows, including if we can't verify you, or if you were removed before.
3. Our rules
You agree to:
- Meet only in public places from our list, during the hours shown. No private homes, hotel rooms or overnight plans.
- Keep contact and payments in the app. No phone numbers, links, social handles, or paying outside SheJoins. Bookings made outside the app lose refunds, support and safety cover.
- Be respectful. No harassment, threats, hate, or sexual or romantic advances, and no pressure to drink or take anything.
- Be honest. Use your real self in your profile; no fake reviews.
- Use the safety features. Swap start codes when you meet, answer check-ins, and check out when you leave.
- Upload only what you have the right to share. No nudity; no other people without their consent.
Breaking these rules:
- Usually a warning, then a suspension (normally 14 days), then removal.
- For serious breaches we may go straight to suspension or removal, and we may contact the police.
- A person on our team reviews every report. You'll see which rule was broken.
- To ask for a decision to be reviewed, write to our grievance officer (section 12).
- If you're removed, we keep a limited record so you can't join again (privacy policy, section 5).
4. VIP membership (for members looking for company)
VIP lets you chat with and book companions. Companions never pay.

Launch cities: Bengaluru, Mumbai, London, Paris and New York. Booking is only for plans at listed venues in these cities.
How you pay, and renewal:
- Android app: Google Play. It renews monthly until you cancel in Google Play.
- Web, outside India: PayPal. It renews monthly until you cancel in SheJoins or PayPal.
- Web, in India: UPI, as a 30-day pass that doesn't renew by itself.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep VIP until the end of the period you paid for.
Refunds of VIP follow the store's rules (Google Play), or the law where you live.
The "Verified" badge is free for every verified member. Paid tiers get a gold status badge, which never means "verified".
5. Bookings, payments and cancellations
Price: the companion's rate for the time booked, plus any activity costs (for example a ticket), plus a booking fee (20% of the companion's rate; 15% with VIP Premium) and any taxes. You see the total before you confirm. Companions receive their full rate.
Paying: you pay SheJoins when you confirm, by UPI in India or PayPal elsewhere. A booking is confirmed only when we've received your payment.
Payouts: after both members check out and the review window passes, we pay the companion, unless the booking is held for a safety or dispute review.
Cancellations and refunds:

6. Reviews
After a booking, both members can leave 1 to 5 stars and a short note. A review shows on the profile once both have reviewed, or after 7 days, and never names the reviewer. Reviews must be honest and follow our rules. We may remove a review that breaks them, but not just because it's negative.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, show and process it to run SheJoins, for as long as it's on the service, plus the time needed for backups and legal records. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share.
8. Safety features: what they do, and their limits
- Start codes, check-ins, SOS, texts to your trusted contact and our responders, and location sharing while the app is open: they help, but they depend on your phone, its connection, its battery and its settings.
- A web app can't track you in the background. On iPhone, notifications need the app installed to your Home Screen.
- Our responders act as quickly as they reasonably can, but we are not an emergency service.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time (My profile → Delete my account, or shejoins.com/delete-account), unless a booking is in progress or coming up. We may suspend or end accounts as section 3 describes. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive, such as payments owed, liability and disputes.
10. Liability
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law: death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Within those limits, we aren't liable for what members do or fail to do; we're not a party to the arrangement between members beyond the platform services we provide.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before it.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts in Bengaluru have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer in the UK, EU or US, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live, and you can bring proceedings there.
12. Complaints and grievance officer
Contact support@shejoins.com, or our grievance officer: name to be added after incorporation, support@shejoins.com, phone to be added after incorporation. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. For important changes, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before they apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then.
